Technology
in education has been one of the most frequent topics in
events, workshops, and articles in the last few years. It
is undeniable that some aspects of language teaching will
never be the same because of all the gadgets and tools technology
has to offer us. But what about the things that do not need
to be revolutionized? We´re still teachers, teaching
our students who need to learn a new language. How do we
find a balance between the things that need to be left behind
and the values that are the core foundation of our profession?
Using very practical examples, this session will help you
find your path through this technology revolution. It will
help you become not only a 21st century teacher, but a timeless
teacher!
BIODATA
Lilian
Itzicovitch Leventhal
has been working in education for over 27 years. She is
the director of Potential Consultoria, specialized
in regular schools. Lilian has authored reference books
for English teachers. Her latest release is the brand new
series for children in Ensino Fundamental 1, Dream
Kids, by Pearson Longman. Lilian is the English
Coordinator of a renowned institution in São Paulo
and gives workshops and talks all over Brazil. She has vast
experience with training English teachers in all segments,
from primary and teens, to adults and business.

road less traveled
“Are
you only an English teacher or do you also work?" -
Have you ever been asked this question? In this talk about
professional development, we will look at how the role of
the teacher is perceived by society and how we can try to
stand out as professionals. We will discuss practical ideas
to find motivation within ourselves to be constantly improving
and to develop our career even further.
BIODATA
Vinícius
Nobre
has worked as a teacher, teacher trainer, school
coordinator, and material developer for over 15 years. He
holds a COTE, a DELTA, and a degree in Letras from PUC-RJ.
He is also BRAZ-TESOL First Vice-President, a CELTA and
ICELT tutor, as well as a Cambridge examiner. In addition,
Vinnie is a Pearson Longman author, having contributed to
the Hey There! and Project Ace series
and co-authored the brand new book for Ensino Médio,
Hyperlink.
